Prerequisites

To get started with a WhatsApp Business API account, you need to have the following:


Valid Email Address

The first page of signup creates a 360 Client Hub account. This should be created under a valid email address (free email domains are not allowed). This email address should also not be registered under any other 360 Hub accounts.


Phone Number

You may use a mobile number, landline, or VoIP to associate with your WhatsApp Business API. The number must be able to receive an international phone call or SMS during the registration process and be owned by you. 

The phone number should not be currently associated with a phone-based WhatsApp mobile app (personal or business). However, if you wish to use a number already on WhatsApp, you may read through the instructions here.


Meta Business Manager Account with complete Business Info

You can create a new Meta Business Account or connect to an existing one during the signup process.

Please choose your Business Manager carefully, since it can't be changed after the number is registered.

All information in the Business Info section of the Meta Business Manager Settings must be filled in to have an active account. It is essential to include a legal name, an address, a website, and a business phone number.


Verified Meta Business Manager

This part is optional, although highly recommended. You can still set up a WhatsApp Business API account even if the business is not yet verified. In this Tier, you have

  • unlimited customer-initiated conversations (24-hour messaging windows);
  • ability to send notifications to 250 unique customers in a rolling 24-hour period;
  • ability to register up to two (2) phone numbers, which can both be assigned to 1 WABA or split between 2 WABAs.

You can stay in this Tier indefinitely. However, if you want to move to the Standard Access Tier (full mode) you must complete the Meta Business Verification process. This gives you access to the following:

  • Currently available messaging limits (1K, 10K, 100K, unlimited unique customers/day)
  • More than two (2) phone numbers
  • Apply to become an Official Business Account
