Create a Chatbot

Create chatbots to connect with customers across multiple messaging channels including Facebook Messenger, Telegram, Instagram, Line, WhatsApp, Web Chat, and SMS.

Available Channels

Convrs supports creating chatbots on various messaging platforms. The channels available to you depend on your subscription plan and enabled features.

Creating a Chatbot

Follow these steps to create a new chatbot on any available channel.

Create a Facebook Messenger Chatbot

Connect your Facebook Page to receive and respond to Messenger conversations.

Note
Ensure your Facebook Page is connected to your Convrs organization before creating the chatbot.

Steps:

  1. Click the Create New button on the Facebook Messenger Chatbot card.
  2. Enter a name for your chatbot in the Chatbot Name field.
  3. Select your Facebook Page from the Facebook Page ID/Name dropdown.
  4. Select the initial conversation flow from the Initial Flow associated to Chatbot dropdown.
  5. Click the Create New Chatbot button.

Result: Your Facebook Messenger chatbot is created and ready to receive messages.

Create a Telegram Chatbot

Create a Telegram bot to communicate with users on Telegram.

Steps:

  1. Click the Create New button on the Telegram Chatbot card.
  2. Enter a name for your chatbot in the Chatbot Name field.
  3. Enter your Telegram Token obtained from BotFather.
  4. Select the initial conversation flow from the Initial Flow associated to Chatbot dropdown.
  5. Click the Create New Chatbot button.

Result: Your Telegram chatbot is created and linked to your Telegram bot.

Tips
  • Create a Telegram bot token by messaging @BotFather on Telegram and using the /newbot command.

Create a Web Chat Chatbot

Create a chat widget that can be embedded on your website.

Steps:

  1. Click the Create New button on the Web Chat Chatbot card.
  2. Enter a name for your chatbot in the Chatbot Name field.
  3. Select the initial conversation flow from the Initial Flow associated to Chatbot dropdown.
  4. Click the Create New Chatbot button.

Result: Your Web Chat chatbot is created. You can then configure and embed the widget on your website.

Create an Instagram Chatbot

Connect your Instagram Business account to handle Direct Messages.

Warning
If no Instagram accounts appear in the dropdown, you must first integrate an Instagram Business account with your organization.

Steps:

  1. Click the Create New button on the Instagram Chatbot card.
  2. Enter a name for your chatbot in the Chatbot Name field.
  3. Select your Instagram account from the Instagram ID/Name dropdown.
  4. Select the initial conversation flow from the Initial Flow associated to Chatbot dropdown.
  5. Click the Create New Chatbot button.

Result: Your Instagram chatbot is created and ready to receive Direct Messages.

Create a Line Chatbot

Create a chatbot for the Line messaging platform.

Steps:

  1. Click the Create New button on the Line Chatbot card.
  2. Enter a name for your chatbot in the Chatbot Name field.
  3. Enter your Line Channel Secret from the Line Developers Console.
  4. Enter your Line Channel Access Token from the Line Developers Console.
  5. Select the initial conversation flow from the Initial Flow associated to Chatbot dropdown.
  6. Click the Create New Chatbot button.

Result: Your Line chatbot is created and connected to your Line channel.

Create a WhatsApp Business API Chatbot

Connect to WhatsApp using the official Business API for high-volume messaging.

Warning
This feature requires an appropriate subscription plan. If no channels appear, contact Convrs support for assistance.

Steps:

  1. Click the Create New button on the WhatsApp Business API card.
  2. Enter a name for your chatbot in the Chatbot Name field.
  3. Select your WhatsApp channel from the Channel ID/Name dropdown.
  4. Select the initial conversation flow from the Initial Flow associated to Chatbot dropdown.
  5. Click the Create New Chatbot button.

Result: Your WhatsApp Business API chatbot is created and ready to send and receive messages.

Create an SMS Chatbot

Enable two-way SMS messaging with customers.

Note
This feature requires an appropriate subscription plan and a Convrs-issued mobile number.

Steps:

  1. Click the Create New button on the SMS Chatbot card.
  2. Enter a name for your chatbot in the Chatbot Name field.
  3. Enter your Convrs Issued Mobile Number.
  4. Select the initial conversation flow from the Initial Flow associated to Chatbot dropdown.
  5. Click the Create New Chatbot button.

Result: Your SMS chatbot is created and associated with your mobile number.

Understanding Chatbot Fields

Learn about the fields required when creating any chatbot.

FieldDescription
Chatbot NameA friendly name to identify this chatbot in the system. Choose something descriptive that indicates the channel and purpose.
Initial Flow associated to ChatbotThe conversation flow that will handle new conversations. This determines how the chatbot greets users and routes conversations.
Tips
  • Use descriptive chatbot names like "Website Support Bot" or "Sales Messenger Bot" to easily identify them.
  • Create and test your conversation flow before creating the chatbot.
